Arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport you are greeted by our staff who will transfer you to your hotel. The balance of the day is free to relax.

After breakfast, we set off on a full day, guided tour of the city.  In Old Delhi visit Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque then drive past the Red Fort before taking a short rickshaw ride through the bustling market of Chandni Chowk. You also visit Rajghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi.  Following lunch we explore the British Raj architecture of Lutyen’s New Delhi, driving past the Rashtrapati Bhawan (President House) and the Parliament buildings with a photo stop at the India Gate. The tour finishes with a visit to the ancient minaret Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb.

Following breakfast you are transferred to the airport for a flight to Bagdogra.  On arrival you are met and taken to your hotel in Darjeeling, lying in the lap of Eastern Himalayas and once a popular summer hill station during British Raj. Today it is famous for producing the world’s best-known Darjeeling tea and also for offering breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga.  The balance of the day is free to relax.

Our early start this morning takes you to Tiger Hill to appreciate the spectacular sunrise and view of Mt Kanchenjunga and to see the beautiful Ghoom Monastery. On our way back to hotel, we stop briefly at Batasia Loop, an engineering marvel of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and also visit Gorkha War Memorial. Later in the day, enjoy local sightseeing in Darjeeling visiting Zoological Park, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) and Tibetan Refugee Centre.

This morning take a ride on the historical Himalayan Toy Train from Darjeeling to Ghoom and back.  After lunch we explore some of the other interesting places of this hill resort such as the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Barbotey Rock Garden and Ganga Maya Park before strolling in Mall Road, Darjeeling’s famous market.

Departing the hotel this morning we travel to Pemyangtse.  In the afternoon, visit Pemayangtse Monastery, then from here, walk to the nearby Sangatcholing Monastery. The balance of the day is at leisure.

Overnight at the hotel

After breakfast, we drive you to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, and en route we’ll make several stops.  First will be to see Khachoedpalri Lake and visit the Tashiding Monastery, then as we continue on, we’ll visit small towns of Bakhim and Ravangla before arriving in Gangtok.

Early this morning we visit the Tashi View Point followed by stops at Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok Temples. Following lunch at your hotel, continue exploring the other jewels of Gangtok visiting Choerten Gompa, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Cottage Industry, Enchey monastery and White Hall Flower Show with its large collection of wild orchids.

Following a leisurely breakfast, we drive to Lachung (115 Km) at an altitude of 8,600 ft. With several photography stops on the way, especially between Singhik and Mangan you may get to see the Khangchendzonga Range. This location offers a breathtaking view of several other peaks like Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Simvo. Upon arrival in Lachung, check into the hotel with the balance of the day at leisure.

Today leave for Yumthang (11,800 ft). On the way we visit the famous hot spring. Yumthang in a large valley surrounded by mountains, where the tree line ends. Between April and June the valley looks amazing when the Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers are in full bloom. In the winter months, Yumthang offers a different view with snow all around.  Upon your return to Lachung, and with time permitting, visit Lachung Monastery, Cottage Industry and Waterfalls.

After breakfast we return to Gangtok. On the way, there are several stops to visit the Phodang, Labrang & Phensang monasteries near Phodong town.

Today set out to enjoy a full day excursion to tshangu Lake. There is also an optional Mountain Helicopter flight to one of the several areas such as West Sikkim, South Sikkim, North Sikkim, Kanchenjuna and a 15-minute joy ride over Gangtok City. This needs to be booked in advance and order of sightseeing is re-adjusted accordingly.

This morning travel to Kalimpong (85 km/4 hrs) with a visit along the way to Rumtek monastery, one of the most famous monasteries in Sikkim. This drive is one of the most beautiful drives of the region. As we pass through some of the local villages on the way.

Start your full day sightseeing tour of Kalimpong at Deolo Hill and then visit Dr Graham Homes School, Thonga Gompa, Mangal Dham temple, St Theresa Church and the Flower Nurseries.

Today, we transfer you from Kalimpong to the airport in Bagdogra (75 km/3 hrs) for flight to Delhi.  On arrival in Delhi, you are met and transferred to your hotel.

After being transferred from hotel to Indira Gandhi International airport, depart on a flight back home.
